brush angle tied to wacom pen angle??

hi Guys…anyone know if it’s possible to tie this PS CS3 brush parameter to pen angle?
if so, how?..cause I can’ find it :argh:

Change the Angle Jitter control to Pen Tilt under Shape Dynamics.

Thanks Leigh… I’m trying to set it up to get the same visual cues while angling the pen that you get when manually rotating CS3’s angle control…you know how the brush outline rotates so you know what it’s gonna lay down on the canvas. Doing it the way you suggested the brush outline “ghost” stays in one orientation so you have no idea how much the brush is really rotated until you hit the canvas.

Maybe I need the 6D Art Pen for the above to work?

Oh right, yeah. Hmmm, you know, I don’t really think there is a quick way to do what you’re suggesting. At least, not in current versions of Photoshop. I’ve actually long wanted a pop-up slider for adjusting brush orientation, but there still isn’t one. Just another one to add to the list of suggestions for the next PS beta, I guess.

I generally just tend to keep the Brushes window open and quickly hop to it to make adjustments that can’t be mapped to tablet behaviour.

Like leigh said - The best way for the brush angle to “Follow” the angle of your pen is to set it to “directional” or “pen angle” on the brush preset palette, under “Shape Dynamics” - pen angle seems kinda wonky so I usually set it to directional or initial direction depending on what I’m trying to accomplish. Generally speaking though the angle of the brush is at it’s default until the tablet senses movement. I usually have the opacity/flow control on too so that it skips the first two brush stamps.

This can be a little tricky - and yes it is influenced by the “angle” of the brush. I have included a screen cap to show you. I usually create dynamic brushes in this manner - especially for hair, fur, flowers or stitching (like for clothing). But it’s also useful for caligraphy or painting in general.

I believe you do need a different wacom pen to have the tablet & PS register pen rotation.
