Broken Model with Motion Capture

#1

Hey, hoping someone can give me a hand as Im still new to motionbuilder.

I have just taken some C3D files that I captured using a vicon setup and created an actor and mapped all of the points correctly, the actor now animates with the points quite well. Bit off in some parts but I think thats down to marker placement etc as it was my first time using the system.

I have then imported the FBX model I created in Lightwave which was already setup with the 3DDave skeleton. I characterized this with no problems or errors. I then set my character to be controlled by the actor but the character then jumps across the stage into position leaveing the head and other parts behind, then when the character animates bits become disjointed and misaligned like the right elbow and the left shoulder out of its ball socket.

If any can give me some advice or suggestions on why Im having these problems that would be fantastic

I have included a screen shot below.

Thanks again for taking the time to read !

Hi mattadamson,

I work in LightWave with importing/exporting and retargerting too… First of all, I want to say that for me 3DDave skeleton in very terrible for use… So I build good rig in Maya, then import in LightWave and MB to animate it. It was not easy pipeline… but It work properly
What I can suggest U is to get more knowledge in rigging or share U scene, so that I or anybody else can take a look.

Turns out a few of my weight maps had been overwritten hence why the model parts were left floating, all sorted now.
