Bridge Tool

#1

Is there any bridge tool in modo ???

I didn’t find it

#2

Not in this current version. :frowning:

#3

And yet It’s an essential tool I don’t understand why it is not implemented

Do you believe it will be in future version ??

#4

I’m sure it will be in a future version. Or somebody will write a script or plugin once the SDK is released. I would assume it’s not implemented b/c this is Modo 1.0 - oftentimes things get overlooked in a 1.0 release. There will be a slew of new tools before too long.

Thank you very much but it seems it doesn’t work not as well as LW Bridge

The tool makes some bad polys with rotation between the 2 selected polygons in the most cases

#7

brutal,

thanks so much for your script!

any chance of programming in the ability to bridge 2 polys that don’t have the same vertex count?

mbaldwin > Have you good result with the script ???

#9

Could you describe bugs you found in script ?

#10

Actually i tried the script on modo / mac and it wont work. Copied and pasted in bbedit.

Any advice?

Brutal --> Just see the picture

just create 2 circles (with same number of edges) with the sphere primitive and do a bridge.
I have tried also to flip the polys in differents positions --> it’s worst

Same thing with 2 cubes

#13

With 2 tubes it works well in that configuration

#14

The tool works for me if I do the following: -

a) Create a box. Create another box.

b) Select one poly face from box 1.

c) Select one poly face from box 2.

d) Run @“bridge.pl”.

I have found out that it doesnt work if you are using any other layer other than layer 1.

Cheers.

#15

I do exactly this in one layer and I have these result see above

#16

W00t, thank you for your hard work on his script brutal.

Yes, seems that the script likes selected geometry centered with one another.
I also get the points not matching up with the 2nd selected poly’s if poly arent centerred. (the Twisted look)

#17

I am totally agree with NANDO It seems to be the pb

#18

Do you have Symmetry on?

Edit: Yes, I can recreate your fault if the objects are not centered.

Cheers.
