Bokeh effect like the Battlefield 4 art?

Hi there,

I’ve been doing some fan art for Battlefield 4, but I always get stuck when I’m about to create the bokeh effect that they have (see images below). It’s like they have generated the bokeh in an unrealistic way because no matter how I try, I never achieve the same vibrant results as BF4.

This is the kind of bokeh effect that I want to achieve:


I have tried the Blur Gallery with in CC, and also some third-party plugins such as “Alien Skin Bokeh 2” and FocalPoint 2. None of them can achieve the same results.

Any ideas?

There are may bokeh and lens bubble brushes and effects available for free. Or you can make your own brush: http://www.iceflowstudios.com/2013/tutorials/create-bokeh-photoshop/
