ryusen: I’ll be in Singapore on the 20th of July for about a year. If you don’t get any interest by then, I’ll be likely to join you. I’ve been doing subway sketching on my own here in Washington DC, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun, and a much more productive and entertaining way to pass the time than catching catnaps. :slight_smile:

For DC, I spoke to Roberto last night, and we’re going to try and hit the Metro this Sunday (June 12) to do some sketching. If anyone in the area is interested, I’ve started up a thread, so please feel free to chime in.

aaraaf - Well, I got an e-mail from someone else who’s interested in doing a Chicago sketch group, and I also have a couple friends that are interested. So, I’m going to set up a chicago group thread. I think I’ll do the first one a couple hours before our CGSociety Chapter meeting on the 18th. That way, we can cruise around on the EL for a while and just end up at Belmont for our meeting. What do you think? Can you make it?

ah! seems like we all are geared up for getting into a good habit. yeaah!!!

well, lets put it this way, you can ALWAYS draw alone and then post up in cgtalk. You can bring your friends along and draw too. You dont have to be a cgtalker to draw right?

And whats best, its a SUBWAY group, you draw when you are suppsingly wasting your time. Its not a “office hour” drawing group where you are drawing and not doing work, or a “classroom” drawing when the lecturer is boring, its a group when you draw in the train standing or sitting.

So, just start a group, you dont have to wait for anyone, and put a date, fix a place and post your work. Good things are hard to come by, but they do, eventually.

I cant just wait to be an artist.

MWarsame I m not very good either. Remember practise makes perfect. I want to start it, but I’m away this Sunday… Off to Cambridge, I might do some doodles on the train show them here :smiley:

Me and some friends are discussing this at the moment so well see what happens :)… I’m not going to concentrate on one particular city… Hell the netherlands is not a big country and i still got working legs so i can walk to where ever there is something to draw.

(I am wondering on how to call the thread if this setup works out)

We could I suppose. But I m always until 6ish at work and being all day infront of a pc the least place I want to be is the tube! and its rush hour as well. W/E is more relaxed and in the tube. You work all day? both days?

Hey Bobby…question…when you sketch, you guys are riding the train back and forth, right? Not just hanging out on the platform? And do you spread out or do u try to stay in a small group?

IMO There should be another subforumfor the subway sketch group as they’re popping up all over the place now.

I work one day but its not a fixed day, I get an Email saying either sat or sun but the other day I’m free but I’m gonna switch to full day after 15th June meaning I’m gonna be free on W.Es

If it starts I can make it

Good habits and passion for art is key for any artist. I’m so pleasantly surprised at how many people are interested in starting this sketch club! It’s becoming very exciting!

I’m going to do my best to try and help as many of you with your sketches as I can. (for those of you that want my help).

MWarsame. That’s great. We can start after the 15th of June until then I suggest to expirement individually, like I will on Sunday.
I bought I tiny sketch book which feets in all my handbags lol, will try to have it with all times :wink:

Right, I didn’t go to Cambridge at the end (hate english weather) I have done a few sketches on the tube…Should I post them here? Or maybe start an London experimental Sketch group?
