Blurred zoom transition

#1

I’d like to do a transition from one piece of footage to another in a way where it give the impression of zooming very quickly; when the zoom finishes the next piece of footage is on the screen. How is this affect achieved in Combustion. I’ve been experimenting with the Motion Blur operator but to no avail.

An example of the effect can be found 30 seconds into this video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-518987054423232517.

Thanks.

Set up your zoom in. Then add a radial blur operator at the appropriate moment in time that the zoom starts. Animate the amount of blur to increase as you zoom in. Do the same thing on the other side of the cut.

Enjoy

Thanks - there is no radial blur operator though. Is Dolly Blur the closest thing?

Dolly blur ist the right thing!

Thanks! Do you mean is or isn’t? I assume is! I’m used to the term Radial Blur; maybe I’ve been using Photoshop for too long …

yep it’s dolly blur sorry I got my applications confused. You can use an animated mask on a box blur also if you choose. There are many ways to acheive this sort of effect.

Thanks! I’ll start experimenting …

Thanks again.

Also you can just animate the scale up and down of the frame and turn on motion blur.

Sorry, it is a typo! (in german it’s spelled “ist”)
