well i think this is rather important and since it is a rather difficult issue to handle well anyways, here it is the final olution to blending problems, i know that many missed it cause , well not everyone visited my tut, and this tends to be rather useful, so im spreading the seeds lol. one warning though, if ur computer is weak reduce the count, and SET STEPS TO 0 it results in perfect blending well anyways here are the serttings if there are things unclear ill answer the questions

Blending Tool For Photoshop Cs
Are scatter and count variables static? Or are they affected by pen pressure?
I would also like to see your brush strokes in action here because when i tried this method it didint work so well, thats probably impossible though.
static, yes, dont set them to pen pressure, only thing pressure active is other dynamics,
Hope you dont mind, i used your painting.
Here is my two minutes of work. Seemingly its worse than yours, i dont understand how you did that with the smudge tool and got such detail. What is the size of your brush when you do this? Do you go in the same direction with your pen over the canvas?

As far as I know, neb doesn’t go over the entire painting, but rather goes around each individual ‘mass’ in order to get all the shadows/highlights in the right place.
I’m sure his insane amount of talent does help though. Maybe just a little bit!
lol just as paperclip said i work it mass by mass, that way u keep the sharpness, illp ost u tonight lil tricks on the actual usage ro clear things up, the maximal size f blender my comp can handle is 45, and that onr i use under MINIMAL PRESSURE that way u get the perfect blend in, treat this tool as a brush that changes the way u work from photoshop to oil, u see blender under full preassure still has the smudge ability so u can actually drag colours into each other and blend them, it speeds u up even more
I smudged it with my mouse, ill try to use the wacom later and do it more delicately. I am looking forward to that trick of yours.
Yea this is a good tool , thanks Nebz, only I too need a bit more
practice with wacom and painting anatomy to get as sweet results
as u do
.

okay, i had to try using nebz painting, i hope you don’t mind-

note that i added some dodge stuff like nebz did.
if you think it sucks real bad and don’t want it up then i’ll take it down nebz:D
thanks man, it’s getting easier every time i use it:D
btw, if you want to chat i’m on msn.
Hi! Thank you for this!
I just have one question, when you say set steps to 0, what do you mean? I can’t figure that one out. My computer isn’t too bad, so I guess I don’t need to worry about it, but I’d still like to understand it.
Terrific tip!!
One of the Photoshop blend tricks that I learned early on was to uncheck the Spacing. It really speeds it up. But even then, Photoshop’s blending tool is the absolute worst in all the digital art softwares I’ve ever used. Tweaking it can make it respond better, but the blending tools in other softwares like Corel Painter, Corel Paintshop Pro, Satori FX, Open Cavas…etc all blow Photoshop into bloody chunks.
How come PS is the tool of choice for so many digital artists then?
Here’s my version. It should probably be alittle more saturated in places though.

lol photoshop doesnt really have a blending tool, it is actualy smudge tool with settings i wrote
and here are some tips to avoid the dreadful overblend

Sketching at it’s best. It’ll even look cool, lol.
