blending nParticle caches in the trax editor?

#1

Hi,

I saw an old post by G.H.O.S.T. explaining how to blend nParticle caches in the trax editor. I’ve tried it, but my particles switch abruptly from on e cache to the other on the frame where the blend weight for one becomes greater than the blend weight for the other. What am I missing?

I’m trying to loop some nParticles. I did the trick of setting intial state at the end and running the sim a second time from there. The annoying thing is that now I can’t fade between them in the middle.

thx

When I try to cache my two loop sources, or do a cache-merge, I get this error:

// Error: Channel nParticleShape1 was not found. //

I’ve made sure that cachable attributes = all and also “cache data” is ticked.

Any help would be appreciated.

i got exactly the same problem. :banghead:
have you found a solution meanwhile?

I think maybe I avoided the problem by using a geoCache instead? Maybe I never got it work. I can’t remember at the moment. I’ll have a look when I get home tonight, and post what I find.

#6

Hi - I had a look at my files, and sadly I can not find a solution. I gave up and did not use particles.

o.k. thanks for looking up.
I’ll keep trying. If I find it out I’ll post it.
