Blender on a Mac -cannot change the view

#1

Hi,

This is my first day of Blender.

Very excited… And then 0 I ran into a road block on page one.

I can zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, but I can’t do anything else.

The manual says you can scroll vertically while using the mouse wheel and press “shift”:

Does not work. Nothing happens.

Horizontal scroll zooms the Apple screen.

In short: except zooming in and out I can’t do anything - none of the instructions work.

I tried to reprogram the third button/mouse wheel but had to find out this is no longer possible in Snow Leopard.

The MMB brings up the Apple widgets - so dragging doesn’t work either.

It looks all so nice in the tutorials, only when I try it, nothing moves.

How can I get “changing the view” work in Blender? Is this an Apple specific problem?

Thanks!

I found a solution for vertical scrolling and the general tilting/trackballing the object by disabling the mouse for expose/dashboard view.

I still cannot scroll vertically. I don’t know if it’s a bug in OS X or Blender or both, but it doesn’t work.
