I was good, but not that good! This program when the proposal was “corrected” eventually took a team of programmers and designers at least four years to finish. Now, if I had been involved in the initial programming (the lead programmer took a six-month walkabout in India right after the start of the project so it was left to a grad student), it might have been finished in two years.
Now, if they had stuck with my original design proposal it would have been finished within a year and been a much better program - the faculty member wanted something tied directly to the hardware he was selling/using and we wanted more of a construction kit so that any sort of physical simulation could have been done.
