Blender camera roll

#1

Is there a way to constrain the camera roll, so that up is always up (like Mayas camera)?

:banghead:

#2

Ummmm…by up you mean the local Y axis of the camera never moves right?

#3

I’m not sure if this is what you are looking for but in 2.5 there is an option in the <Object Constraints> tab <Limit Rotation>. There is a tickbox to Limit Y. Hope this helps.

#4

By camera roll do you mean the viewport?

#5

ChukChuck: yes the user view port

RichGun: can this be done to the “users viewport”?

thanks guys. Im new to blender

Go to the user preferences (ctrl+alt+U). A new window will open and you should see a gray row of buttons. They should say "interface, editing, input, add ons etc. Select input and it will turn blue. Along the left side you should see a list. Look for orbit style and change it to turntable.

I would advise you take a look at this. The videos aren’t long and very good. http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/showthread.php?188849-Blender-Fundamentals-First-drop-of-videos-now-available-to-the-public
