Blend Shape Problem URGENT!!!

When I am applying Blend shapes onto the main Face, in some morphs it crashing the half side face when i take the value to 1, why so?, How can i fix this.

It looks like you’ve use mirror geometry on some of the blendshapes to get the same expression on both sides, however, this won’t work when using blendshapes.

When you use blendshapes, all of your blendshapes has to have the same vertex order.

If you’ll upload you maya scene, I think I may be able to fix the blendshapes for you.

In those cases it’s probably because you didn’t use the Mirror Geometry tool.

Another thing, do not freeze the transformations on the blendshapes (which you had done in the file you uploaded).

File is not opening in maya2009. Error Reading file.

Go to the optionbox under Open, click Ignore versions. That should do the trick :slight_smile:

I’ve had my share of problems regarding blendshapes, so I’ve actually scripted some tools to help fix these kinds of problems.

In short, I duplicated the main head, then I transfered each vtx position (on the left side) from the blendshape-object over to the new duplicated head. Then I mirrored the duplicated head to -X by using a wrap deformer, then I transfered each vtx position (on the right side) from the mirrored object over to the duplicated head.
