Post one was just an intro of the artist who started the thread, and discussion topic opportunities are found throughout the thread from here on. End of story. Read whatever you want. You have something substantial or relevant to this discussion to post or not? You’re working on a WIP Shredder remake, right? That’s totally cool. I like what I see so far, but there’s definitely room for improvement. There always is. I’ll swing by to critique it with specifics later. Anyway, what do you want to know? Or is there something you’d like to show? Let’s get back on track here.
Biologically Inspired Sculpture Discussion
Pencil_Whipped,
You have some fascinating stuff here I really like it, but I have to agree with McKertis. You’ve dominated the “discussion” before anyone has really gotten a chance to speak. If you want to do a discussion, even if you already have a ton of stuff in mind, take it slow. The post McKertis was refering to that should have been first I agree with. Post that and then something you want to be critted; all of the other stuff you posted, just put that in your portfolio. Lets not get ugly with each other.
Regarding biologically inspired sculture: I don’t have too much experience in this, you are definately much more experienced in this area, but I will agree with you on making your own tools. When I was working on an animation with clay I found that using a certain stick you like as opposed to professional tools, was more preferable. It gives your own personal touch and may make things look less like everybody elses. Things get more interesting.
When working with any media or form of art it is good to listen to whatever music inspires you or watch your favorite movie and get to work. Be around things that inspire you and for everybody that is different. Im inspired by city life; that way people interact with one another. Im inspired by music and movies. CGSociety is filled with inspiration. I also like to keep plenty of books with reference material around me so I can take things I know and work with them, redesign them, and make them my own.
Interesting idea for a post Pencil, but take it slow. Let other people post what they think and maybe edit your first post so that we know more precisely what you want to discuss.
