.bf files

#1

I wonder, what are they? I mean, for what purpose are they inserted in a game?

A friend and me were trying to unravel a game’s programming.

He wondered if they had anything to do with Max’s biped files.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for posting.

No problem.

I get it from this:

\BearPolar_Adult_F.bfm
\BearPolar_Adult_F.nif
\BearPolar_Adult_F_Attacked_2LieBellyPaws.bf

Only a part from the text, though.

I suspect the .bf files are biped animation files. Under another format. I only cannot get it imported into 3Ds max. Meaning in my biped.

Hi

Not sure exactly what you’re trying to do, but I have found out that the “.nif” file format is 'Morrowind’s mesh format, so I guess that’s the game you’re looking into? Not sure about “.bfm” or “.bf”, but I’m assuming there the game’s proprietry file formats with the “b” probably standing for binary, so you could try the developer’s website perhaps

What I did find as well was that there is a “.nif” importer for 3dsMax at this site :

http://www.cadalyst.net/extras/plugins/Importmax5.html

… if that helps?

Aha, more news!!

Just saw a site(http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/NIFLA/) describing “.nif” as Netimmerse’s file format for meshes (from which ‘Morrowind’ is built on). Could try there site …

www.gamebyro.com
