Hi all,
I do mostly photoediting and retouching with PS but a friend needs some help with a logo. He sketched out this design but I am not that familiar with PS drawing tools. Can someone steer me in the right direction on how to start this? The curvy lines need to have a gradient color applied to it (if that helps).

PS: I don’t have illustator and can’t afford it right now.
i’d rather go with Illustrator for logo creation but if you don’t have it read a bit about “pen tool” or check youtube
Yeah the Pen tool is your best bet for this. Having said that, Photoshop is not an ideal package for any kind of vector design, as its vector toolset is somewhat primitive.
You might check out some of the free vector tools available, probably better choices than Photoshop.
Although the logo itself could use a good bit of other help first 
You could do it in photoshop with the pen tool if you really had to and export an eps but really illustrator is the best software for the job.
