hey guys can u plz let me know which is best tools for statue breaking… which has more control also if u guys know any good reference on statue breaking then let me know… send me the link if u guys have any…
best tool for statue demolish
rayfire for fracturing and thinking particles for dynamics, or rayfire and physx (physx doesnt give much control) , or thinking particles and built in volume breaker (though you will only have voronoi shapes)
so rayfire and thinking particles would be the best
The first you need is a shatter tool, you can use fracture script, but It is going to block if you are planning to shatter the statue in several hundreds fragments so the options are pulldownit shatter or rayfire.
Once shattered you need a fracture solver to compute dynamics of the fragments, rayfire works with PhysX which is buggy with prefractured objects , basically it makes the statue explode or bounce weirdly.
Pulldownit solver instead computes a quite convincing dynamics and you have a lot of control in the way it breaks, you can greate long cracks or make parts stand, so my option is
Pulldownit plugin for this, here a demo video,
Hey … thats sounds grt but since I dont have pulldown.it, I wont be able to use that one… Right now I have Pflow toolbox 2 and rayfire. So I m planning to make from these tools… But right now I have some issue… I used collison test to activate the simulation and my problem is that It only activates the particle that is touched by collison deflector but I want to influence all the object too. like when the bottom particle it activated then It should also activate the particle which are near to it. Not so highly influence atleast some force should be.
Just use rayfire. It’s great, use the Glue with groups and use interactive demolition to get some nice secondary details!
Thinking particles or bullet in Softimage or something will get you better accuracy at the cost of speed.
Up to you.
For progressive destruction in Rayfire I’ve used low power rf bombs with a shockwave to trigger objects when they’re set to be Inactive impact Objects. Then they become active in a wave.
If you do it bottom up you’ll need to make the shockwave quite quick or the bottom pieces will fall before the top ones do.
