Best of these quadros?

#1

Buying a second quadro, want the best 3ds max viewport performance mainly, and all round performance etc…

FX 4800 - £160
Quadro 2000 - £175

Or spending £400 on a quadro 4000, obviously kills the other 2 cards and is my preference but I can’t aford it.

Ideally someone with relevant knowledge, but what do you think?

The FX series is outdated, don’t buy.
Do a search here, the question for Quadro cards pops up pretty often.

Are you buying a second card because you want to attach 3 monitors, or do you think a second gfx card will make things faster?

Both cards you have listed are absolute dogs in terms of speed.

Cheers, I’ve heard the 2000 will out preform the 4800 because of the femi architecture.

In an ideal world I’d buy a 4000, but just cannot find one with the budget. It’s for my upgrade from a 3700, obviously they will be much better, but not the best.

Second hand because I’ve always bought second hand quadros to save on stupid prices. Just for my main 3930k rig, all rendering is handle via the CPU, so card is purely viewport and interface performance.

Not the slightest bit interested in a GTX, they fall apart with the scenes I work on. Would love it if they didn’t.

What kind of scenes are you working on?
