Hi I have a beginners question about digital painting.
When i have seen paintings like the ones from enayla for example i start to wonder about a few things.
First, what is the preffered resolution for paintings like http://enayla.cgsociety.org/gallery/377293/ for example?
I have read that i you should use pretty large formats, but how big, 2000 x 4000, or higher?
Do you make them in screen resulotion like 72 dpi or do you do them in print resolution (300 dpi) or higher, or is this a question about how the final rendering i going to be used?
Then a question regarding brushes in photoshop CSII, if i try to draw with a brush bigger than 300 then photoshop CSII lags and draws the strokes with a delay, this also happens when i try to do it in painter. So the question is do you offen use brushes bigger than that?
Could it be lack of RAM that makes this?
This is pretty basic questions but i really want to learn how to do it rigth from the beginning.
I truley gratefull for all answer that i can get…

I do use bigger brushes, but rarely paint much with them. And yes, it’s about RAM. 512 or better, 1024 MBs of RAM upwards would be best.
