I dunno if this has been asked before but i think a beginners challenge section would be very beneficial to people who are new to various aspects of CG. Whether its a challenge for 3d, 2d, sculpting ect i think it would involve those of us with less experience more. Being only new to 3d modelling, one of the most difficult things i find is trying to find a project that suits my level. Allot of concepts are only new to me like poly modelling and having good topology on my models and not to mention all the tools in 3d max are sometimes over whelming. I think i would be very interesting to see people who are already competent with their chosen packages to suggest tasks and projects that involve basic-intermediate techniques to complete the task. Personally i find it hard to look at an object and work out how id go about creating it in 3d or what tools and techniques to use. And by getting projects from people who understand how to go about starting your work and what skills to use would be so valuable.

A beginners forum or even (dare I suggest) a beginner’s section might be a good idea. I understand that CGTalk wants to be the Mac Daddy of all CG sites and only wants the best here, but look at it this way. It would give us noobs a chance to learn some things and not pester all the CG snobs who were never new at this stuff and don’t want to be bothered with our crappy work and stupid questions…
