Hello everyone I hope that you are all doing great! I hope im posting in the right place if not, I apologize! :arteest:
My name is Cristian and I am an aspiring video game concept artist. Right now I am working on environments, and I need to buy a tablet (which I am not sure yet which to get). I really need some help. I want to know about how to build a solid portfolio, how to improve my art, and how to become what I want to become. I will be attending at the University of Baltimore for major in Simulation and Digital Entertainment. This major will focus on the art side of the video game industry, and specially 3D modelling. I have heard that Art Schools are not really needed if you can teach yourself, and I think I can really teach myself. Art schools also seem to be incredibly expensive. Artists such as Noah Bradley, Sycra Yasin, and Marc Brunet always talk of how they never liked the idea of “Art School”. I am foreign, I am from Costa Rica so I am still confused with one thing or another. Can you please tell me how to improve? I heard that a good way to get into the industry is to start off with Environment Concept Art, and to be honest I am enjoying it. Can you also tell me which tablet would be a good one? I am also considering a Surface Pro 3 any suggestions? In conclusion, if you are a person that knows a lot about this please answer to this post, I will make sure that when I become one of the best if not the best Concept Artists out there, I will not forget about you. I am really serious and I am VERY persistent when I want to achieve a goal.
Thanks and have a great day! :wavey:
