Batch render not working

#1

Hi all…
not sure what’s up here, using Maya 2016, nothing special in my render settings but for some reason, Maya won’t render more than frame one when I batch render. I’ve been using Maya2016 for a while now and never had this issue…so I’m pretty stumped, if anyone sees something I’m not, please let me know. My render settings are attached. I posted in the rendering forum in case also.
thanks,
Joe

ok…looks like it was a mental ray issue.
It rendered in software mode fine. I changed my ground texture to a lambert (was a useBackground) and it rendered fine in MR. Not sure why this fixed it but it worked.

Most likely ran out of ram. Try on the batch render option box to set your ram usage to zero. Mental ray will sometimes not start if the checkbox to calculate it on the fly is checked. Helped me when I had an issue. Otherwise, check the renderlog and it will usually show you where in the render things went wrong. In windows, its in my docs, maya, version. Delete it and run render again to just print out the most recent render. Otherwise you have to scroll through every render you have ever done.

Hope this helps.

Here’s a link to an Autodesk website that I found worked when I had trouble getting Batch Render to work:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Rendering-issues-with-Maya-2016-Extension-2-batch-render.html

Basically, you delete / rename your Maya user prefs and scripts folders and restart Maya. DO NOT SELECT COPY OLD PREFS!!!
