Baseball pitch WIP

#1

Hey All,

Working on a Baseball pitch animation test in order to build up my meager (rubbish) Animation skills.

Having just read keith lango’s ‘pose-to-pose pop through animation’ tutorial, I’ve blocked out some key poses and had an intial stab at some timing.

Clicky clicky

I know there are some passing positions/breakdowns that need adding (the arms are doing some odd things in places), but if some one could tell me what they think of my timing and key poses, then I’d appreciate it a lot!

thanks - D

P.s - sorry the viewport menu text is obscuring the Frame numbers, I don’t know who to turn them off when making a playblast in Max!

Hello again guys

Had another go at my blocking phase for this baseball pitch I’m working on. any points on the poses/timing/general motion

Clicky clicky

Havn’t touched the fancy stuff like arcs, or eases yet. just what to get the fountation nailed down first.

Any comments at all which would help improve my work would be appreciated

thanks again - D

on thing i notice is the hands need to come up before the throw look at some ref youll see how the has go up when he comes down need more follow through on the pitchin arm keep at lookin good
an put a frame counter so easier to crit

hey. A frame counter is on there, unfortunetly in Max it gets obscured behind the viewport menu text where it says ‘Camera’

you can add one in AE

Right hand pose in the later one is a lot better. Anyhow I just dont like the end . It seems too much acting. You got the progress, anyway.

Hey all

So I went back and had a look at some referance again and redid the follow thought of my baseball pitch

This time the leg swings round as the momentom catches up and takes the body with it.

again, this is just blocking with a few breakdowns added in.

I even looked up how to add a proper frame counter in after effects!

thanks again - D
