I would like to use Mental Ray combined with Final Gathering and Ambient Occlusion to render out one (or more) Light Maps. These Light Maps would be used a real-time video game environment as the Ambient Contribution paired with real-time dynamic lights and shadows.
I’ve done a few tests and have made some progress, but I have a few questions.

Normal Maps.
I can’t get Normal Maps to react to Final Gathering or Global Illumination. Do I need to convert my normal maps to bump/displacement maps? -
In the Batch Bake settings, I can choose Only Light, Only GI or Only Occlusion.
Do I need to combine all three maps in photoshop to approximate what I see in a Render? Do I need to use a custom shader to bake out the FG/AO?
