I was able to just take your scene as is, add your ground plane to a bake set and do a batch bake and it worked perfectly fine! I’ve actually never tried to bake caustics and didn’t even know you could. I’ve attached the scene archive, but it’s the same as yours with the added bake set. So i dunno what you are doing wrong honestly? maybe you were doing it to vertex? Typically it’s a good idea to use a bake set instead of just the batch bake mental ray options, as it retains your settings and it’s easy to make modifications to the bake…

Here’s the saved scene

Hi Scott i wanted glass caustics to be baked as it is in render the caustics on ground get baked perfect but it is the glass caustics which i wanted to be baked perfectly …
This thing can be achieved in blender I wonder why it is not possible in maya mental ray…

the problem with your scene is that you forgot something important The glass UV’s are wrong for me. The baking process don’t take in account the environment color of your camera. The transparency(refraction) is black anyway.

Thanks Dario,
I will try to see glass uv’s but meanwhile can u pls show me how to bake caustics on a geometry with a glass shader to it even if u post a maya scene file with a simple sphere with caustics baked on it same as we see in render will do great…
