Whenever I hear the word “B-Movie”, I think of old horror movies. Initially I had several ideas, but now I’ve pretty much settled for this one idea I have :slight_smile:
The Swamp Monster From Mars
I’m not dead set on the title yet though.

It’s King Kong/Godzillaesque, and it will be located in London or Venice, and maybe in the retro future (the future as designed in the 50’s) :slight_smile:

This is going to be so fun :smiley:

The Swamp monster from Mars - sketch.
It’s a quickly sketched up idea. I haven’t decided if it’s a she holding a guy, or a a he holding a girl yet, but I’ll get to that later on.

Is this idea too unoriginal?

I definitely think the monster should be a she and the person in hand a he. The guy in her hand could even have the typical damsel in distress poses.

I think the idea is cool, but I think the perspective could be more interesting, like the camera could be almost in the hand of the monster looking up, with the clock tower lower in the frame, making the giant look totally terrifying, and you’d have a closer view of the DID (dude in distress).

Cool monster design!

Cool Idea. I think a more dynamic camera angle could help out the action a bit, but I looks like a great concept. Good luck!
Also are you going for 3d or 2d?

Thank you guys. I made several doodles at work on different angles, but the lack of a scanner and not being in a tip top shape, I’ll redraw the most interessting ones in Photoshop tomorrow :slight_smile:

I think that reversing the gender roles in the classic King Kong setup is a great idea. I hope you stick with it.

I Like of you idea: Use the retro-future in you scene…
but, in you sketch i cant imagine how you will show cleary this concept. Maybe a aiplanes going explode the swamp monster? How you show us this scene?

I put it in a more interesting angle.
I’m leaning more towards the alternative on the right although it’s a more difficult angle for me. The dude in distress is more visible there and I think the composition is better.
I’ve also put on some retro-futuristic “aeroplanes”

I like the one on the right much more… The composition lead your eye down through the scene & you can have some really interesting perspective to play with.

I kind of like the right panel more as well as it shows the perspective and space quite well.

I’m with AJ here, the right comp is much more dramatic. Love the idea too - and having a female monster holding the fearful guy is an excellent twist! You can do a lot of this I think and I’m looking forward too see it!

yeah i love the right side view , or maybe a lil more birds eye view also might look kewl :D.
i like the the way how tht image focuses on the monster while the human in hand :smiley:

Nice camera angle, I like the right one for sure, it has nice framing and you can see the action very clearly.

I would pick the right side as well, its very dynamic and the composition and perspective works great. I am sure you can get a great piece from that sketch. Best of luck to you
