B-Movie Entry: Shushan
My concept is the 5-foot kid attacking lego city. I’m currently building the city. This is section of the city.
I’ve added more detail to the city. I realize that I’m adding more detail than can be seen in the buildings in the back but I think I just like doing that for my OCD sake.
I’d love to hear any feedback!
now i just need to texture things. but i think I might need to adjust the boy’s position because his face is not well seen
Maybe he could bend down a little or turn his head and look straight down into the camera? Like as if he has spotted you. That might give it a threatening feel because the perspective of the viewer is of one of the little lego people.
Having been a lego addict for most of my childhood I love your idea! And somehow it reminds me a little of Calvin (from Calvin and Hobbes) and his recurrent fantasies of being a giant/monster/dinosaur destroying tiny towns he built with his toys, out of snow or in his sandbox…
Looking forward to see your next updates!
Thanks for the comments guys!!
archaeotect: thanks for the advice. i tried making him look down a bit more at the lego people that i added. that works out a lot better. unfortunately maya crashed on me. i’m gonna redo it and post a quick render.
Hey Shushan,
hahahahahah coool!! Like a lot your concept.
Nice cartoon style on the kid.
Perhaps he is in a stiff pose, maybe he can be climbing over the buildings or running and using the buildings like steps, or kicking some buildings, or playing with cars like toys… only silly thoughts
Cool work and waiting for more updates. Cheers!!
i finally finished texturing. now I need to put in lights and play around with the render settings. I would love to hear all suggestions. i’m still kinda new in the whole rendering realm.
Software: Maya,mental ray,Photoshop
The boy got bored and decided to build a lego city that he could rule and destroy.
that is a great concept. only crit is about the kid, he could have been a bit more realistic and the sky is kind of empty. but still good work
kojala: thanks! I felt the sky was a bit empty as well. I think maybe i’ll throw in a few clouds. Do you have any suggestions for the sky?
