hah thanks for the pun  i enjoyed that.

Yea molluck was indeed the inspiration for the tittle…the original remains one of my gaming highlights of my teenage years…of course it plays on the actual word of mollusk (octopus and muscles etc)

Thanks mate

nearly done on this i think. i’m quite concious of over engineering the piece, so i’ll take a break for a while and see what needs to be done

wow, awesome work, lightsovereign. the colors, the mystical atmosphere, the immense scale of that… thing and last but not least the water are great - can’t wait to see your next step!

like something that belong in The Abyss… but it is up to you

I was thinking of that movie when I saw this…love it!!!

I think its B-grade enough while still being A-grade!

#45

Thank you both for the awesome feedback, actually really isn’t too much work left at all. prolly the odd brush here and there, but thats it…maybe a doodad or 2.

Cheers very much

HAH there really wasn’t too much to do from the last image. so i apoligise to anyone anticipating more posts :P…In anycase, this particular image is done.

The only thought i had whilst scribbling the concept was “water tank effect”. Thats what i was after…

Inspiration are movies such as Titanic, the Abyss, Tora Tora Tora…and even thunderbirds…especially loved Derrick Meddings and his effects he created…

So entitled 20,000 leagues above the sea. :D.

Wow i thought i was working fast. Great illustrative pic. It looks great with the boaats to the left but looks odd with the boats to the right go figure.

#48

I love it! The touch of front-blur gives it a nice cinematic look. I think Cyberone said it well in stating that you had managed sufficient B-grade while being A-grade. Congratulations on getting so much done so quickly

#49

That was quick… But you did a good job, I think. Congrats

#50

Thats awesome you three, thank you very much. Appreciated

#51

Cr*p, you again do something I can’t even conceive of doing. I love the subtle depth of field clues. Looks great!

#52

Thanks jeff, my friend. in actuality i get the same vibe from your art, as in i wish i could think of compositions the way you do with your character art.

Really appreciated, thank you

amazing concept and colors …great work

#54

Thank you very much :D.

I think your image rocks! The water in the foreground really does have that (made in a tank of water feel). I noticed some people mentioned that it doesn’t quite say B-Movie to them. If that still concerns you, you may consider a full B-Movie poster effect with your image as part of the overall poster. You could have your title in a really corny font and have it all looking like it’s been printed on white paper that’s since discoloured & weathered.

Regardless of what you decide I think you’ve done a brilliant job.

#56

Wow, that was fast.

Really impressive final picture. I like that tiny helicopter in the back. Gives a great sense of scale.

Love it, I dont know what it is, but I love it. You’re compositions for both of these have been spot on.

Hey man thank you so much for the positive feedback. The dust has settled on this image for sure, so i am comfy with the result…Thank you for the suggestion btw. an interesting way of dealing to the image…

I’ll look round for cheesey fonts hahaha

Many thanks

haha yea it has a tendancy to confuzzle people as to what they are staring at. i guess it shouldn’t really be like that, but thank you so much for the compliment.

Take care all of you and best of luck
