Software: 3ds max,mental ray,Photoshop,ZBrush
I learned a lot on this project. I feel I truly found the workflow that suits me best. I just do the basic modeling and UVW’s in max just to give myself a blob of UV mapped quads to work with when I transfer to zbrush and start really defining it the way I want it as opposed to sitting there moving vertices one at a time. Unfortunately with this project I picked and animal that has smoother skin so there wasn’t too much need for zbrush. I just wanted to “successfully” export normal maps and apply it to a model. I also learned how to use subtools and mask deformations which are both really cool. Projection master is pretty sweet too. I feel a lot more comfortable with my pelt mapping and rigging skills in max as well. I know I’m not gonna win the contest but, I feel it won’t be very long before I CAN actually compete with some of you extremely talented artists. My next project is gonna be way better in every way now that I’ve found my workflow. It feels great;) Cheers, my fellow 3d friends…
