Hi this is my concept sketch for the image, This is my first time in a contest so i hope to get some comments to improve my work.

#3

This is the base modeling for the head, still has some pieces missing

#4

Still modeling the main character of my Image, y added some pieces like the mecha nose and more support to the neck.

#5

Finally finished the base mesh and its ready for a little sculpting

#6

very cool model man. nicely done

#7

Thanks i hope to add more detail with the sculpting in the organic parts.

#8

Here is my latest advance, the model of the monster in a city.

#9

Love the scale of everything in this image, looks very epic. The horde of flying saucers fillinf the sky gives a great imposing feeling, great stuff!

#10

Thanks for the post, im glad you liked it

Finally made the girl for the poster, the only problem is im getting errors of memory, i was thinking of rendering some elements apart, Anyone got a tip of how to solve this?

Bonjour Ohmagatsumi,

The simplest, if you have photoshop, would probably be to make two copies of your scene. In the first copy, delete everything except the sky and the flying saucers and render. In the second copy, delete all the flying saucers except the three that refract in the cyborg’s helmet. Render that one and make sure you save it in a format that keeps the alpha channel. Then just composite the background and the foreground together.

Hey Jordi,

Nice concept. Like a lot the giant android design, cool!

Perhpas you can put the camera more lower and tilt up to put a more dramatic touch and more contrast between the size of the android and the damsel, only a comment

Nice work!! Cheers!!

#16

testing some material from my scene, tell me what you think of them, any advice is welcome

Spyone-thanks for the tip, i`ve already solved some problems, but surely i will use it at the final render (my machine is suffering with the renders :frowning: ). Also i liked your poster of the zepellin, good luck!

Ferx- i followed your advice (i think i need to work the angle a littel bit) thanks! im glad you liked the concept. Cant wait to see your image finished, you got some great ideas!

#18

done more texture work, decided a palette of colors, remade the ovnis and preparing little surprise for the end. Hope you all like it!

#19

worked with the lights and added some textures.

Nice work! That black bar behind the text at the top is a big improvement for making it all read clearly. The text at the bottom isn’t working as well yet - maybe a smaller typeface and a different font, something less serif-y that feels more like a footer and less like a title font, as you’ve already got one of those! (And the font on the top is perfect!) that, and of course, some hair for your heroine. Good luck!
