This is just a really fast concept doodle to get my idea out of my head. I’ll work on refining it and getting a better pre-viz image before I start work on the final image.
I’m thinking my story will be about a couple watching a B-movie in the theater. A younger sibling and friends will be about to scare the date with some of their own B-movie horror.

I’ve been very slow getting this project off the ground but have made a little progress. I am trying to get a good idea of the final lighting and look in my pre-viz painting. I’m thinking that I will probably have it be a little darker than this painting shows, but not nearly as dark as a real theatre. I think I am getting close to the overall mood of the lighting that I want, I’m going to rough in my characters tonight.

I was going to paint in my characters last night but ended up working more on getting the mood of lighting right. I think this image is much closer to what I want. The light coming from the projector is still way too bright and the depth of field in this image is not exactly what I want either, but it’s progress.

I am very behind, but I press on. Rough layout with cheap temp models till I get my modeling done. Getting camera locked, playing with focal length.
