Latest Update: Final Image: Zombie Chicken

#2

I’m still trying to settle on an idea for this, here is a Zombie Chicken emerging from the oven to greet an unsuspecting chef!

#3

A portrait version of the Zombie Chicken idea, I think I like the framing better on this one.

#4

pretty good Idea!

I like the seccond shoot

#5

Here is another idea I was playing around with, It involves a Sea Monster which emerges from the depths … to serenade mankind with bad music.

#6

no no
the secoond one!!!

Love the history implic

#7

I’m glad you like it! I’m torn between the Zombie Chicken and the Sea Monster … I guess I’ll have to sleep on it and decide soon.

#8

Definitely the zombie chicken… I can almost taste his crispy skin…

#9

I decided to go with the Zombie Chicken idea in the end, here are some tests for the color palette. They’re perhaps a bit too saturated ? ok, probably a lot, but it’s a start  Maybe some tones and shadows will help.

I’m liking the middle one on the top, so far. It would look great with some strong orange light on from the hitting the girl (Okay, I know that’s for later, but I had to say it)
Just thinking that it might be cool to darken the edges of the image to help focus on the bright areas and the action.
The only thing bothering me right now is the relatively empty space right above the stove and you might want to thing of making the cat-clock a wee bit bigger.

Can’t wait to see the next step!

Thanks for the feedback Carolyn. I agree with your points, the scene could use more kitchen clutter (cabinets, knives, a sink) and I probably wont be making it so bright in the end once I light the scene, it needs some shadows. I like the middle top one also, but I kinda like the bright red background aswell (makes it more violent, might work with all the slaying about to happen).

#12

I love chicken zombie.Keep up!.

#13

Some progress at last! I made a first pass at the oven and chicken models … and I just realized I forgot to model the inside of the oven. I’ll have to add more details after.

#14

this is looking great!! im really looking forward to the final shots  best of luck.

#15

that looks great. I absolutely love the simplicity and i think it will stand out because of that. I love that the chicken’s ‘head’ reminds me of a turtleneck sweater…

#16

It’s been a while since I updated, but I’ve been making progress! First up is a sample of some kitchen sections I made while I was deciding on the look of the kitchen in my scene.

#17

Here is the kitchen scene more or less done (modelling wise). I might add more details if there is time. Also making her first appearance is the Zombie Chicken’s future victim! She still needs a bit of work but she is coming along. I’ll try to wrap up the modelling in the next couple of days and move on to texturing everything.

#18

Cute models, especially the female! I love the wings on the chicken! The legs aren’t quite as recognizable yet - are you going to have leg bones protruding from the bottom, like drumsticks usually do? Looking forward to seeing your textures… Good luck with the rest!

#19

Walrus, Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you like the models so far. Now that you mention it, the legs do look a bit un-chicken-like (even for a cartoon chicken), I’ll play around with the drumstick idea, that should help.

Weerawan, cgjobo, Anomalous, Looks like I forgot to reply to you guys! Sorry about that, and thanks a lot for the encouragement!

I refined a few details on the lady. She looks much better with eyes, she was starting to creep me out before. I could take the model further but the rest of the scene needs some attention.
