B-Movie Entry: Gunilla Elam

#21

Hey Gunilla,

Cool to see you in this challenge

Great ideas for sure. The " Return of the SlimeGirl" sounds terrific, great potential on that idea, a B-Movie on a High School adventures film… Like it!!

Good luck Guni, and waiting for more updates!! Cheers!!

#22

Hey Gunnie, great to see you around. You going for huge size, I expected some sort of micro world B ride here… you know, like something very natural and ugly  Good luck!

#23

first try to nail the main features of the Slimegirl. I want her to have a sad and pre-longed expression.

#24

Mark - thanks. This is just intitial thoughts and may well change later depending on what I come up with. Glad you like the start of it.

Mona - hey there! good to see your happy little guinapig again, it’s been awhile since!

soapy - hmmm, soap and slime… no details please! It may turn into another B-movie

mathias - sad to hear you aren’t in (…yet) but glad to have you around. Perhaps we can convince you to enter anyway? thanks for the nice comments too

Ferx - Glad to see you ina and thanks for the cheering!

Juraj
- yep , my intention are to try something huge - we’ll se how it goes.

So - above my first take on how she may look like. I just realized that I mainly made body parts before … chop, chop, makes me feel like a B-movie character.

I still haven’t made up where it all is set. I’m thinking either some cave in a desert like place on a distant planet or perhaps a twist in scale to make it all micro anyway… “IT CAME FROM THE NOSE!!!” … or perhaps that’s just to gory, even for me

Suggestions and crits are as usual welcome

#25

No…i think “it came from the nose” thinky should be fun to do…imagine the scale u can give to so many tiny things. :bounce:

#26

hey Gunie finaly found your thread :surprised I like the idea  Agree with Dimi here , It came from the nose lol very funny

#27

Maybe Slime Girl came from the nose. LOL

#28

Hey Gunie,

The first stage of the model looks cool  Perhaps you need to put up the hips, for a bit more long legs, and proportion with the torso. And pushing a bit the rib cage. Only a comment  Looking good so far.
(For enlonged face you can take reference on “El Greco” paintings)
Waiting for more updates! Cheers!!

#29

Nice base mesh Gunilla. The title ‘First Steps’ is right, it looks like she is about to take her first steps.

#30

Excellent! You have started the modeling, and your base mesh looks real good, I’m really exited about this character and mostly her facial expression, which I think would be the core element of your scene!
Thanks again for the persuasion, I think it’s a bit late now to start after all, but I’ll be in next time around!
Good luck!

#31

oooh !
Organic modeling around here !
I will follow this Gunnie !

#32

Cool! We get to see the beginning of Slime Girl. I’m looking forward to following her progress, from these first stages through to final slime

#33

Yop Gunie !!

Slim Girl ! this is gonna be huge for sure … or not , if it comes from the nose :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks like a solid start for you , the blank canevas syndrom is as true past story apparently !

Anyway , wanted to say hey , and wish you the best luck for the journey …

I may drop by sometimes to tease you a little bit

Cheers ,

-Stéph

#34

Good start on the slime girl model! Look forward to seeing how you will do the slime that is oozing.

#35

Great start Gunny i love the pose of the slime girl in your sketch, nice concept.

#36

Dimi - glad to hear you backing the idea up - it could be real fun to make some giant nostrils.

Tony - hey there! good to see you here.

mike - yup, exactly that… sleazy enough for any B-movie lover

Fernando - excellent advice, thanks! I did make her legs a bit longer and lifted the hips a bit. Looks much better now!

Jim - thanks, I hope it will be good enough to work on in Zbrush. Else it can be a good reason to learn how to retopo.

mathias - thanks. The face expression will be a challenge indeed… zombielike? vicious?

Gilles - thanks, all advice will be appreciated

Mark - thanks buddy, I hope to bring her further - slime will probably be separate objects. Looking forward to the slime

Steph! Hey honey! Why aren’t you in? And always welcome back - nothing like some whipping (much needed for snails)

Imkan - thanks for the cheering

Steven - glad you like the pose - I’m thinking a bit zombielike here.

Here’s what’s going on. I’ve missed a lot of valuable time now. The last week I’ve been crippled from a damaged disc. The back type, not the computer one. My hopes are it will calm down in a week or two so I can get back on track with this… at least be able to hang around to cheer you all on.
I really like to complete this even if it will go slowly ahead!

#37

Sorry to hear that Gunny, i’m nursing a frozen shoulder atm, so i know your frustration. Last week was a right off for me too. I hope things calm down for you, but you’ve got to do the right thing in these cases and let things heal.

#38

oh my  sorry to hear that Gunie hope you are feeling better now … please take your time to heal don`t push yourself we will miss you here but we want you to heal so please take good care of yourself :argh: and agree with steve here do the right thing and let things heal.

#39

Sad news about the disc problem, I wish you a very speedy recovery, so that you can enjoy your life again, and then come back working some more on this project, you are too valuable for this challenge to be left out!
God bedring!

#40

Ouch! A damaged disk! I’m sad to read that. I wish you well, Gunilla. Hopefully things will improve quickly
