B-Movie Entry: Finn Staber
I decided to sketch out an anatomically correct shark from the side view, just to get a good feeling of its volume.
My 3D modeling/animation professor, Brandon Lackey, demonstrated some advantages of starting out with a cone. So, I scrapped my spline model, and started over
I like JAWS just as much as the next guy, but don’t you think it would be better to create an original image by Finn? You could take the JAWS concept and portray it in a new and different light.
Yeah, I gotta agree with miketche…it’s kinda hard to tell where this is going, aside from a reproduction of the original movie poster?
I like what I am seeing so far. I don’t know what you have in store for the rest but I would like to see a underwater shot with some caustics. Maybe a underwater shot looking up at the figure about to be eaten. OOOOOOoooooooooo scary. Keep it up man.
To make it more of your own you could have it look like jaws already devoured a few victims. Have body pieces floating. If you can make it look like jaws is stalking the swimmer some how that would be a little more original.
Looking good so far, however you really need to add in the teeth or take out the flat diamonds on the gum line area as it makes him look like a rather elderly shark
I used Photoshop to composite this image. Multiple layers of water, and oil-painted ocean allowed me to create the water.
