some progress with the Evil Mutant Guitar itself. The ‘teeth’ are tuning heads, and the strings will now be snaking off of them.

I love the design. It’s very reminiscent of some of the more ridiculous axes from that era. I’d like to hear how it came to life.

As for the reference, I geeked out on image searches of said ridiculous axes. I knew it had to have horns. And I’ve had a lot of time to think about it.:slight_smile:

Still need to work on string/arm texturing. The torso/body pose is pretty much nailed down.

Thanks ficdogg! I’m going to have the mutant guitar ripping apart his abdomen so I think a tattoo might confuse the subject.

I wanted to go with an 80’s theme for this challenge as it is a little bit different, and more to my liking. I just came up with the idea that guitars might get sick of being played, and try to play us instead. (especially when spurred on by ‘evil’ music) All models and textures were created by me for this competition.
