This particular tutorial is in Blender, but the principles are transferrable to any 3d program, including C4d and it’s numerous third party renderers.
Of course when combined with a real-time renderer, Eevee in this case, the workflow is a bit more next-gen. Adding animation to the shader, providing a stop-motion effect, is what takes all of this a big step beyond the commonplace.
Again…much of this is universal and transferrable. It should be welcome guidance to 3d artists everywhere.
