Attack Anim WIP

Heya guys! I’m working on a pretty straightforward attack animation, all vertical attacks. Trying to get down the timing and such before I go through cleaning the poses, polishing and animating the loin cloth. Mostly want to hear any thoughts about the basics of the poses, timing, arcs, things like that. Obviously the end part is still stepped, would be glad to hear thoughts on transitioning back to his start pose.

Hi good job! I like it, very nice and clear poses and funny rig :smiley:
But also i see some think what I don’t like, in few first poses you have a wired move in right foot, and spacing when he grab this mace is to fast i thing, it’s look like pop, maby 1 frame more and it will look better. And also when his right foot make a step before he jups it’s for to fast and you probably miss the arc, look very flat and to fast, and last what i see it that he lose overlap in his right wrist when you make this move in air. But gennerally i this you made a very nice blocking, you have strong and clean poses and finally will be great :slight_smile: keep it up!

Here’s the final(?) version. The loin cloth was a pain, it has a really janky fk setup. But I think it works well enough, doesn’t really draw attention to itself. Anyway, additional feedback is welcome.

Hi.
Great job with this.
In my opinion, the weight of the club seems to change quite a bit during the animation.

The fast movement of the club, before the first attack, makes it seem lightweight, while it seems heavy almost the entire rest of the scene. I also feel that the second to last attack, the upwards one, seems a bit to “effortless” for the character. Like the club weighing nothing. It could just be that it’s because it’s the only one-handed attack, though I believe that the attack should just be slower overall.

Maybe I’m way off track here, but I hope that helps :slight_smile:
