Assign Particle Clouds to a polygon model

Hi guys. I created a poly cube and tweaked it to a certain shape, then assigned a lambert material to it, and now i want to assign the particle clouds volume shader to its transparency, so it looks more cloud-like, but it just wouldn’t show in the renderer, I’m rendering in maya software. Any help would be appreciated.

You should probably post this in a render forum, as those guys may be more helpful in getting the look you want.
The particle cloud shader doesn’t work with geometry. It must be attached to particles. You could fill your cube with particles and assign a cloud shader to the particles.
You may also get the lock you are after by filling that volume with a fluid and using the texture attributes to create a cloud-like cube.
