Hello everyone,
I’m using blender 2.49
The problem is that I’m getting these lines in the smoothed mesh, as pointed out by the red arrows. How can I get rid of them ?
I just want to learn how to model things like this the right way so that I don’t have to depend on modifiers like “subsurf” to clean up after all my meshes every time.
I did recalculate all normals to face outwards.
I did remove doubles (overlapping points).
I did remove triangles (in a later post).

Note that all the highlighted faces are coplanar (lie in the same plane - perfectly flat) from SKEY, X, 0 :
