Hello all! I bring to you my first matte painting attempt. As you can see its still in progress, after blocking the basic shapes i started playing around with the elements grid, etc, ended up ditching some initial stuff, added some new stuff, you know the drill. This is really new for me so i would like feedback to see if i can finish it and push it a little further…

well the concept looks promising as well as the composition, before start detailing up think about how huge this structure is and how little details will make it work, I suggest www.imageshack.us next time you wanna host an image

just take in count that a nice matte painting takes time, and attention to detail, it might need weeks to work but sacrifice always pay off, and you will learn lots of things , always work with real photo reference so you matte looks as photoreal as you want
Thanks for your reply James. One of the things that im enjoying the most in matte painting is this kind of patience and detailing, it doesn’t bother me at all spending endless hours playing around as i find it relaxing and peaceful.
Right now i`m adding some details here and there and trying to put in practice some of Mr Cristian Lorenz suggestions regarding color, perspective, values as well as the photo reference.
Here are some little details i added this afternoon, again i`m working in my own beginner pace. :)
