arnold tx mannager error when trying to create tx

#1

Hi there. Im a new user to arnold.
im using maya 2015 on a mac.
when i try to use the tx manager to convert my scene textures i get a ‘‘warning: 10 errors’’ message. 1 for each texture i was trying to convert.

I haven’t changed any setting. Just tried using it out-of-the-box.
i dont know what the errors are, where to see them and the arnold support site doesnt provide information on the subject.

Any clues anyone?

What version of MtoA?

Here’s a few ways you might try to figure out the problem.

  1. Check the Arnold log.

  2. Start Maya from a terminal, and then check the terminal for any errors coming from the maketx command (which is what the Tx Manager executes).

  3. Run maketx from a terminal to see if it works.

  4. Uncomment the print statement in scripts/mtoa/txManager.py (line 54) to check the command being executed.

  5. Check a syscall trace to see if something weird is happening. This attaches to a running Maya. Then create a .tx with the Tx Manager, stop the trace, and check the log for maketx entries.

sudo dtruss -a -f -n Maya 2> /var/tmp/test.log
