Arm/Leg/Head Joining

Hello!

I recently obtained Maya for college projects next year, and I’ve been working with it slowly until I hit a snag.
I’ve been trying to replicate the generic Minecraft character, blocky head, blocky arms, blocky legs, etc. I’ve made the separate pieces of the body, but I can’t seem to join them together without severely deforming the body when moving the joints.
I would like to be able to move the character around as a whole, and have it so the limbs and head act as if they were identical to the ones in Minecraft.

Any guidance/help would be appreciated.

hi there! i think a good modelling topology and good overall character skinning for the rig should do the trick. check out this cool site : hippydrome.com for modelling topology for character articulation! Other things could be the modelling history; try deleting all your history for the model :slight_smile:
