This demo of an arcway is modeled and rendered using a method called raymarching. The arcs are procedural shapes with different modulations, so each object looks unique.
Raymarching works without using triangle geometry, so it’s resolution independant, which is great, when the camera is near an object to show details. For example, the floor is a shape and not just a texture. This allows to see the complex structures of the floor grid. It also allows to deform shapes with math formulas, as I did for the boxes.
Besides the single main light, I added the animated light which runs down the arcs and a second pulsating light under the open floor grid.
