Ok people im making a western building for my portfollio and plan on presenting it in udk. Every thing was going well until i imported the model into udk (as a FBX) and applied the materials (all tgas imported were 1024 x 1024). The tiled textures for the stone walls (map channel 3) and exterior wood ( map channel 1) look to be applied ok. The problem is with the texture for map channel 2 which include the door/window/dark roof trim and wooden decking.

I do get an error when importing the mesh saying the uvw exceeds the 0,1 boundry but im confused as the ones that do ( stone walls and exterior wood) are applied ok its map channel 2 with the uvs inside the 0,1 boundry box thats the issue???

Heres a link to a album of images which should help

As you can see from the current max render the textures have applied correctly using a multi sub in max and setting appropriate material ids,but in udk the texture is applied on each of the elements door window etc Were am i going wrong with map channel 2? is it the uv layout ? ive made models before and unwrapped/created a texture this way and there never been an issue when importing to udk.

Final result in UDK

Work flow

Each element or material id was its own separate object with its own uvw unwrap applied

Once unwrapped all pieces where attached and another uvw unwrap was applied. positioning the map channel 1 island (wood exterior) then adding another uvw unwrap and changing the map channel to 2 selecting the MOVE option over ABANDON after scaling the elements for the 2nd map channel a 3rd uvw unwrap was added for the stone walls map channel 3 was selected and MOVE again was selected.

The model was then exported as a fbx into udk

Thanks for your time reading this any help or advice you can give would be greatly appreciated

Thanks again
