aorus x7(v2) versus razer blade pro (2014) vs latest apple mbp

hey there,
the title says it already. every 3-4 years i am looking for a new laptop to work with maya, c4d and after effects (plus ai and ps).

so let me begin with my pro/con-list and conclude with a few questions:

aorus x7:
pro:
-lots of ssd/hdd
-up to 32gb ram
-lots of ports (usb and display etc)
con:
-vga-port (wtf?!?)
-ucking fugly (though, still much better than most win-laptops)
-sli not used by my used software??(*see questions)

blade pro:
pro:
-nicer design
-nice multifunctional touchpad
con:
-only 16gb ram
-poor hdd/ssd-configs
-few ports (only hdmi no displayport)

apple:
pro:
-sleek design
-great touchpad (you could almost work with that)
-silent and good battery-duration
con:
-only 16gb ram
-older gfx-card
-slower cpu (??)
-a bit pricier for the same performance

so now my questions:

  1. do you agree to my pros/cons?
  2. do maya, c4d and the adobe-products make use of sli or is that completely useless?
  3. can the razer blade hdmi-port connect more-than-1920x1080px displays (got a dell with 2560x1440)?
  4. what laptops are you using for 3d-creation?
    (5. is anyone using a mbp primarily with win/bootcamp to work? how does that work out? cause of all my win-software…)

tyvm!!!

Pretty much nothing uses SLI. The razer blade pro has hdmi 1.4a which can do 2560x1440 @ 75hz

No, most digital content creation applications don’t use SLI or CrossFire. Some games support it though.

It’s probably HDMI 1.4 which supports higher resolutions. Double check the specifications for the HDMI version.

I have used ThinkPad laptops for years. The mobile workstations offerings from Dell and HP are respectable too.

I wouldn’t recommend doing this based on my experience from a few years ago. Maybe things have changed since but this is what happened to me. The drivers for Windows are provided by Apple and they seemed awfully buggy. For example there was an Apple driver for the graphics card and it wouldn’t work with the drivers downloaded directly from Nvidia even though it was an Nvidia graphics card. So when I ran into bugs with the graphics drivers there was no alternative, no older version to try or newer beta version to try, it was a waste of time. If you do plan to get a Mac, just use OS X on it.
