Anybody have a Great Hair Shader?

#1

Hi All,

Anybody have a link to a killer hair shader?
Pipari’s shader link seems to be down.

Also, what’s the scoop on a new hair system?

Thanks. -Mike

#3

Thanks ranhell, but I’m talking about a surface shader (anistropic I guess) not a hair geometry plug.

#7

can some one post a sample of this shader at work?

#8

Hi Pipari is there a version of this shader that works with Lightwave 9.3 64Bit?

#9

It’s such a shame there isnt a Node version of this shader that can render in FPRIME!? I would pay to get this made :deal:

#10

Perhaps a solution

I started a how to thread over on the Newtek forum. It’s not great but a start :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers

great results lee

looks awesome

Cheers Bearfoot! I didnt realise how powerful LW’s node’s are. I will post some files for people to play with soon as I dont really understand the maths behind allot of the Node functions so would be great to get people to play with them and perhaps get far better results than I can currently.

If the pillow geometry is node based, then WOW.

Does anyone have a link to a thorough/technical discussion of how nodes work?

I’m particularly interested in how to use nodes to get ZBrush type effects from within LightWave. If V10 happens to have a realtime renderer (they might have been shamed into it IMO), then all of a sudden LightWave nodes might greatly lessen the need for ZBrush.
