any one succeded to do hair sumulation with nHair

Hi,
I have been trying to make hair with nHair and I am having lots of problems.I am trying all the trick that I know (start curve attract, seting up good dynamic properties, seting u the scale of the scene right,etc…etc…) but when simulation begins, some hairs start to have epileptic attacks (bouncing, fliping and dancing like crazy).
It is true that my character has very long hair and it collides with all the body, but still…i don´t know why it is so hard to get a good simulation.

Many people have abandon nHair and are working with other plugins, because the say that nHair is sh##t ( I apologies for that). Is it true?
I´ve hear that hairFair is awesome, but it is not available for maya.

another problem is that after creating hair, if I increasse the hairs per clump, hair starts to disappear. More I increase hairs per clump, for hair disappear…

With regard to the jumping issue…
I believe you can try the hair dynamics settings such as drag to reduce/eliminate the jumping. Also consider the collision settings such as collision thickness. You might also increase your number of hair sub segments.

With regard to the disappearing hair…
In you pfxHair node there is a setting for the maximum number of hairs to display. I believe this is 100,000 by default. You can increase that to 1,000,000 (or whatever you want). This should work.

thanks. I was worried that it was a bug or something.

About the jumping, I haven´t manipulated yet the drag,I will try it. But the thing that made i t much better is reducing the collision strength to 0.1 of the hair.

I´ll play with the drag to set what I get.
