I often receive CAD files (step or iges) from clients that need to be converted into low-poly models for realtime visualization and AR/VR applications usually built in Unity or UE4. It typically is a slow process and can take weeks to rebuild depending on the size and complexity of the supplied models. I recently came across this article from Epic Games that describes an import and conversion pipeline between Meshmatic, Datasmith, and UE4. While I do not use Datasmith I was wondering if anyone here has experience using the mesh optimizing software Meshmatic? I plan on running a few tests using their free trial but wanted to know if there is anyone here with first hand experience?
Thanks,
Ron
