Ants animation

Hey there,
this is my new animation. It’s about 6MB, quite compressed http://simko.host.sk/Anterprise1.mov
I had about 2 weeks to do this including renders and postproduction. It is not perfect, I am aware of some mistakes, but I am still learning.

yeah got it now dude. yeah looks nice, theres no sound is there? thought i better check just in case.

what program did you use? like the lighting the best, the volumetrics when the ants are going along the branch looks awesome. i’d love to see a clearer version.

haven’t got much of chance to really look at in depth now, just thought i’d let you know i got it. if i think of any helpful crits i’ll let you know.

btw, its always good to see another aussie round:thumbsup:

Sorry mate, I am not aussie, I am from Europe but I am temporarily in Sydney. Hope it doesn’t matter. :o)

I created it with Maya and posproduction was done in After Effects(volumetic) Regarding lighting, for first 2 shots I used Mental Rays GI with one spot light emiting photons and couple of fill in and back lights. No final gathering was used. Lighting inside the nest is even more simple and it is standard Maya Software render.

Is it true that this work has no music or sound? If so, perhaps you’d let me have a shot at it?

No music and sound unfortunately. At the time I had no idea what kind of music should I put there. any suggestions?
