animation reference?

howdy,
im a bit stuck with a project im working with for udk.im trying to animate a run cycle and a few other animations but the problem is reference footage.im not sure where to get good reference footage and even when i find it,how do i use it?do i cut still frames from the video of major pose positions and use that,or what? or is there a place to get good, realistic frames of a run/jog cycle to use?

A quick google search gives me several dozen hits for run cycle reference, there’s a lot at this link. You’ll break it down something like a walk cycle, you set your key poses then inbetween those and adjust your curves as needed.

This is a decent look at a walk cycle, can probably be used as a basis for the run cycle as well (although you’ll have more keys in your run).

Glad to help. And I’m not a 3DS Max user so I couldn’t tell you there, sorry, you might try asking on the Max board here.
