Animation Learning

#1

I’m starting to learn animation and thought it would be good to post my work for feedback. I’m geared toward video game design, so most of my work will be in cycles. Any comments or critiques are welcomed.

the cycles are good for a start but the problem is that they look very robotic. games are improving rapidly this days so good and more realistic animation is required. you can start off by adding some contrast to the arms and hands. move the keys on the head either 2frames forward or backwards and see what you get. look for refrence or take one yourself and see what you need to add to make it look awesome.play around with it alot more and don’t rush it, you learn better that way. you are doing good keep it up.

Thanks for the reply joefu. I saw what you meant with moving the head key back and forward. It does give the character more realism.

I made a Idle animation. It was fun and challenging. The graph is definitely more familiar now. In this animation I started out with some poses and just tried to link them in a believable way.

its nice to see you are doing more stuffs and from this you’ll be learn alot. for this animation theres a abit you could improve on. but 1st thing 1st, really, really try and act stuff out, it really helps.

work on the pose a little more. let him turn his head 1st to look then move his arms and body towards the direction, then turn his head again to the opposite direction and the turn body.

it would look ablot nicer if the body changes weight when he turns to point his gun.

overall you have a gud idea on the software but it would be good to look into what makes a good animation. please don’t think i’m being rough or harsh, i’m trying to help lol.

also maybe e could move his feet towards the direction he is pointing to, i thik it would add more spice to the animtion.
